So it was inevitable. I predicted it a long time ago (but I have no proof of this) that Apple would kill the mouse. The irony is, they created the mouse in the first place. I say good riddance the Magic Trackpad is very welcome. This just makes more sense to me.

Despite the fact that Rick Ross may not be genuine about his past (which is a whole lot to ask from rappers these days), I have to say, between the songs that I have heard from the new album, his previous album and some of the artist that he has chose to align himself with I’m officially a fan. While I may catch heat from some of my backpack/shovel wielding friends, you can’t deny Ross’s artistry. His flow is a mixture of different artist that I have grown to love over the years…while you may not catch all of them the most notable vocal likeness is Scarface…and I dare you to front on him.
………is not the title of a new Sophia Coppola movie.
I saw this video and first thought to myself, wow there are some creepy people out there that want some creepy things. The second time I watched it I realized just how fucking great a sculptor this guy really is and how this level of craftsmanship just doesn’t exist commercially. It’s almost scary to think how close we are to creating living breathing humans from ordinary household products.
I don’t like magicians but this guy is pretty good. I wonder if iPad magic is going to be the new thing. I’m sure some American will bit it and claim it as their own.
It’s not everyday that two of your favorite musicians do a song that seems it was made especially for you. I feel like they are sending me a secret message with this one. This is for an upcoming mixtape by THE EVIL EMPIRE entitled Trending Topics IV. C’mon……The song is called (go think) ULTRA…..it’s like it’s my birthday or something
I have no use for this what-so-ever, but yet, I want this really bad. I would probably just set it up in the living room and crank the A.C. up, leave the doors and windows open and see what happens.
The North Face Docking Station
Whether you’re high in the mountains or just chillin’ by the lake, The North Face Docking Station ($430) makes for a fine base camp. The 97 sq. ft. main component offers room for six, with roll up walls, a perimeter floor and color-coding for easy setup, durable steel stakes, and an included duffel-style storage sack. Should your group grow larger as your stay continues, simply add on an available two- or four-person dock to turn your modest camp into a rockin’ retreat.

I used to think that it couldnt get any dirty than Tupac’s “How Do You Want It” video or Jadakiss’ “Knock Yourself Out” video. This is raunchy/depraved/weird on a whole different level. Kinda reminds me of an updated Monty Python animation.

This song is starting to grow on me. This mix is pretty dynamic. They did some interesting things with the drums….nice. I’m definitely looking forward to hearing this album. It’s kind of a shame that Kanye is probably the hardest rapper out right now.
There is a trend in my neighborhood (Wicker Park Chicago) specifically on my block. People are tearing down 2-3 adjacent single family homes just to make one super house. Now the problem with this is that usually there is only one occupant living in these superhouses/mini-mansions. Now that doesn’t bother me as much as the fact that these are the most unattractive, unimaginative, sterile box dwellings I have ever seen. My logic is if you tear down something build something better. Apparently in this neighborhood I am the only one that shares this belief.
I think the problem is the same as it always has been…Americans believe in bigger but not necessarily better. Fortunately other countries have the right idea. There seems to be some sort of space conservation movement happening now. Not quite sure what’s sparked it but I’m loving what’s being born from it.
Structures like these may only be experiments and not very conventional, however they do spark the imagination.
If I had the capital and a signature product there would be nothing to prevent me from doing this. If you sell hundreds of millions of a product then you desrve to build a “temple” to let people know. Even though these are 3D renderings I kinda want this to happen.
There is so much that I can say about Guru and Gangstarr and what they represent culturally, socially and musically. I can speak volumes about how what they have done and how the music changed my life for the better. I can speak volumes about DJ 33 1/3 and what he means to Chicago and what I have learned from him about djing and music as well as life philosophies. I could go into detail why this video tribute was made at the right time by the right person…but I won’t do any of that today. This is something that you just need to experience and hopefully if you’re not too far gone or caught up in the in-adequateness of new “music” you can use this the way I did to make your life better.
AT&T is my current internet provider and I am very unpleased with their service and speed. They always seem to be way behind everyone else in the speed department and I think I figured out why…..because they’re dumb. Watching these series of commercials from 1993 you see that they clearly have the insight to predict the future but not the means and or balls to make it happen….oh….knowing is only half the battle (G.I. Joe). I know that AT&T is basically a service company and that they don’t really produce or manufacture anything…but come on. At the least they have aligned themselves with a company that has created the bulk of the technology in these commercials. Ironically the absolute single reason I won’t get an iPhone is because in the U.S. it’s an AT&T exclusive….damn.
I must admit that I wasn’t necessarily a fan of Spike Jonze from the beginning. Meaning, he wasn’t on my radar until I saw the movie Adaptation. Even after checking out all that he has done since then (and before Adaptation) I’m not what you would call a Jonze-Head….not yet.
After watching “I’m Here”, I understood the appeal and draw of a Spike Jonze film. Unlike other “fantasy-like” works, Jonze creates worlds that make you feel like “this is actually happening somewhere.” It’s really easy to get caught up in one of his films and from what I understand it takes a master film maker to accomplish that.
Check out the full length “I’m Here” movie when you get a chance.
When I first saw the iPad I chalked it up as a novelty item. I couldn’t imagine that I would ever want one. Even after watching Charlie Rose’s iPad creamfest one night I thought to myself “unnecessary”. But now that the apps are coming out for this thing I have had a change of mind. I m really digging this Sketch Book Pro by Autodesk. This is a game changer for me. When someone decides to come out with a quality music production app then I’m all in.
We as Americans have learned to appreciate our space. So much in fact that there are literally millions of acre of unused space in many cities disguised as complexes and developments that have lost funding that now sit empty and barren; brick and mortar drywall skeletons.
I would be a hypocrite if I said I didn’t dream of owing a home or a “living space” big enough for me to drive through. Most of us, growing up between the the seventies and now, share that dream. It’s what we mentally associate with better living. But is it better living? Having so much that you can waste most of it and not be affected is not better living…it’s wasteful living. I am in no way shape or form anti-wealth, but there is a fine line between wealth and waste. We as Americans cross it often. Resource and commodity-wise there is enough for everyone.
That’s all I’m saying. video after the jump (more…)
I might be a little late on this due to all the lab work I’ve been doing lately. This is Jay Electronica’s latest contribution to “the arts”. While he is on point as always with the lyrics and choice of track, I do have to say that I’m a little disappointed that he’s not taking advantage of the window he opened up with Exhibit C. And if you are worried about the Diddy curse I think he’ll be okay as long as he doesn’t sign to Bad Boy Records.
